The CW show tweeted their joy at the baby name, with a picture of Archie, played by KJ Apa, writing, "Proud to be Archie". It is a more popular name in Prince Harry's native UK, than Meghan's U.S.; in the UK, Archie is the 18th most popular boy's name and in the United States it doesn't make the top 1,000.
The parents' happiness was apparent, as Harry -with a huge smile on his face- held the sleeping baby while Meghan lovingly looked on.
Archie, a name of Germanic origin with meanings that include "genuine", "bold" and "brave", is an increasingly popular baby name in Britain.
"They go to regular schools, yes, they go horse riding with the Queen and of course, they are royal children, but they enjoy a life away from the spotlight and I think that's really what Harry aspires to", she said. "It's only been what two-and-a-half days, three days but we're just so thrilled".
