At the end of the moving tribute, the artists joined Parton to sing her hit "9 to 5", which was written for the 1980 film of the same name that starred Parton, Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin. "Well, not them", Parton said in her Friday acceptance speech while receiving the MusiCares award. The performance absolutely brought down the house, and in a big surprise, Dolly herself joined in on every tune!

Gospel singer Yolanda Adams received a standing ovation for "I Will Always Love You", the Parton-penned song famously covered by Whitney Houston. Blending their vocals, Miley kept the melody while Dolly dazzled on her harmonies - but the best harmonizing came right after.

Cyrus, who is Parton's goddaughter, and Mendes dueted on "Islands in the Stream" with Mark Ronson on guitar. "You're not personally involved but you still get off on it". "We may not have sex, drugs and rock "n" roll, but two out of three ain't bad".
