The attack took place at 11:15 p.m., it said.
In an earlier report, SANA had spoken of Syrian air-defense batteries attacking "enemy targets".
Israeli warplanes carried out an airstrike on a depot in the Damascus global airport at the late hours of January 11, a military source told the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA).
Al Arabiya quoted the Syrian state news agency SANA as stating that one of the airport warehouses was hit during the attack.
The aggression caused only material damage to one of the ammunition warehouses at Damascus International Airport.
"At 23:15, Israeli warplanes, coming from the direction of Galilee [in northern Israel], launched several missiles at the outskirt of the Damascus worldwide airport". It claimed that Syrian air defences have foiled and countered "hostile objects" over Damascus on Friday night.
Hezbollah's Al-Manar TV said the attack was "broader than usual," and targeted areas stretching from the eastern Damascus suburb of Dmeir to Kiswa, south of the capital, and all the way to the western village of Dimas near the Lebanese border.
On Christmas Day, a Syrian anti-aircraft missile flew into Israeli airspace and it was destroyed by Israeli air defenses.
Israel had previously said it will not tolerate Iran seeking to establish permanent military bases in Syria as the war there winds down after seven years of fighting.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has vowed not to let Tehran entrench itself militarily in the war-torn country.
