Pittsburgh will continue to be without the services of star running back Le'Veon Bell, but will look to continue leaning on breakout star James Conner.

According to Kaboly's source, a franchise tag for Bell this offseason would be considered the third whether the running back reports by the November 13 deadline or not.

Mark Kaboly of The Athletic reports there's a "real possibility" Bell will simply let next Tuesday's deadline to sign the franchise tag pass and sit out the season. That makes sense and would seemingly be the player's only incentive to show up, but there is now some disagreement about whether that is actually the case.

Bell would surrender the final $6.84 million of his salary if he elects not to sign the franchise tender.

Bell's latest posts also followed a titillating Monday tweet in which he wrote, "Fairwell Miami" - leading to speculation Bell was headed to Pittsburgh to talk with the Steelers about ending his holdout.

But despite Bell's tweet, the Steelers still haven't heard from him and their focus remains the same with the players and coaches in the building as they prepare for Thursday's game vs. Carolina, a source told ESPN.

Per NFL rules, Bell must report to the Steelers by Tuesday or forfeit the whole season, as well as be subject to another franchise tag in 2019. Has enough accrued seasons to be FA in '19 even though he won't get one this year.

According to Kaboly, Bell has already accrued the necessary seasons in order to become a free agent in 2019.
