A new Avatar Store will offer outfits, props, and accessories that let you customize colors, and will be updated every month with new additions.
Finally, the October 2018 Xbox One update also includes Dolby Vision video streaming and new languages for Narrator on Xbox One, including Spanish, Portuguese, Polish, Swedish, and Dutch, as well as an Australian version.
Announced over two years ago, Microsoft's new avatars are now available to everyone. Codenamed Redstone 5, the Windows 10 October 2018 Update was actually pulled due to files being deleted, but Xbox isn't going to be affected by that. If you're not a fan of the new system then don't worry, you'll still be able to use your Xbox Original Avatar if you so wish. As of today, Netflix is the only video streaming app that supports Dolby Vision on the Xbox One, but Microsoft is looking to add more partners in the future. They will now appear on players' profiles, activity feed posts, friend blocks on the Home screen, Gamerscore leaderboards, club headers, profile comparisons, and other places. The new system features a host of different, inclusive options, however, that weren't available in the first Avatar rollout on Xbox 360. As of 6:30 am ET, the free Echo Dot 3 deal with Xbox console purchases is not live yet. Whatever the case, many Xbox One bundles already come with free games, like the National Basketball Association 2K19 bundle pictured above, so you're getting multiple freebies as part of this deal. Some of these include powering your console on or off, launch games, capture screenshots, start streaming, and much more. Lastly, five additional languages were added to Narrator. Make sure to download the new update as soon as you can! Insiders on the Preview Alpha ring will next begin testing the next feature update, codenamed 19H1.
