Former president George H.W. Bush and his granddaughter Barbara Bush at her October 7 wedding.
The 36-year-old married 37-year-old screenwriter Craig Coyne.
The family-only ceremony was held outside, overlooking the ocean at Walker's Point, where the elder Mr Bush - who is now 94 - lives.
Former President George Bush took on another important role this weekend, walking his daughter down the aisle at her wedding. @laurawbush and I are so proud of our compassionate, daring, fierce, kind, intelligent, loving daughter. "And we're thrilled to welcome Craig Coyne to our family".
According to People, only 20 family members were in attendance at the low-key ceremony, held at the Bush family's compound in Kennebunkport, Maine.
"My heart exploded last night as I watched my dearest sissy get married in Maine", Hager captioned an image on Instagram. "The wedding was officiated by the bride's aunt, Dorothy Bush Koch", stated the family.
"I just told her and everybody how much she means to me".
The photo showed the back of Barbara's wedding gown, a custom ivory silk crepe Vera Wang gown that she accessorized with a bracelet that her grandfather had given her grandmother on their 70th anniversary.
As for the Bush twins, they both ended up living in New York City, just blocks away from each other. During this time, Craig - who has acted in movies like 2005's Jarhead, as well as independent flicks like Look At Me and The Snowtown Murders - moved across the country, leaving Los Angeles behind to join Barbara in Manhattan. "And we've been long-distance for most of it - he's been in LA and I've been in NY - but we've gotten to spend a lot of time together".
The addition to the family comes after a year of loss for the Bushes.
