She most recently helmed the pilot for HBO's The Deuce, and also has the WWII thriller The Nightingale in development at Tri-Star.
Universal's Cowboy Ninja Viking has reportedly hit a speedbump. Moreover, the speculations of PC walking out of Bharat' for this Hollywood project have been quite rife.
"Cowboy Ninja Viking" is based on the Image Comics graphic novel by A.J. Lieberman and illustrator Riley Rossmo.
However, the studio has halted the film removing it from the release calendar and delaying production, reports said.
The film was set to be directed by Game of Thrones alum Michelle MacLaren, with a script from Dan Mazeau, Ryan Engle, Craig Mazin, Paul Wernick, and David Reese. Chopra will be "the first choice for the role" when the film gets a new production schedule, but "her involvement would all depend on her schedule aligning with" the filming months. Pratt's character would have the skills of a cowboy, a ninja and a viking whilst others included Amish, Demo Expert, and Army Captain.
Additionally, while MacLaren is still firmly attached to direct Cowboy Ninja Viking, the film probably won't be her feature film directorial debut. Pratt is still producing the project with Michael De Luca, Mark Gordon and Entertainment 360, and Universal is expected to re-date the project at a later time. The next Guardians sequel was all set to shoot in early 2019, but Marvel has yet to make a formal announcement about the movie and how it will move forward since Gunn got the axe.
