Sarri has always been tipped to take over from Conte, however Chelsea dragged out the sacking of his fellow Italian, whose departure was only confirmed today, after two years at the club.
Sarri's appointment had been widely expected, with Chelsea agreeing compensation to bring him to Stamford Bridge because he had two years left on his Napoli deal and had remained on the Italian club's payroll after Ancelotti's arrival.
Maurizio Sarri has signed a deal to become Chelsea's new manager, according to reports.
He will be tasked with returning Chelsea to Europe's top club competition after they finished fifth in the Premier League - outside the Champions League qualification places for the second time in three seasons.
Chelsea are also closing in on their first major summer signing of the transfer window, with Napoli midfielder Jorginho set to follow his former manager to the Premier League club.
"We wish Antonio every success in his future career", the statement read.
Conte's average of 2.14 points per game in the Premier League is bettered only by Alex Ferguson (2.16) and Guardiola (2.34). The team will now play in the Europa League. "Great man, Great manager".
Sarri, who comes off the back of a wonderful season with Napoli, had been sacked during the summer but remains under contract with the Serie A runners-up. This text will now form the basis of Chelsea's evidence against their former manager.
Martusciello worked under Sarri as an assistant manager at Empoli and it seems as though he had the chance to reunite with his former colleague at Chelsea for the foreseeable future.
Conte's volcanic intensity also alienated some insiders, including leading players whose discontent filtered out.
Jorginho is set to arrive from Napoli along with his coach, whilst Aleksandr Golovin is a high priority target for the Blues in midfield, even with Ruben Loftus-Cheek set to return from his excellent loan spell with Crystal Palace.
