Alvarez, 19, was taken into custody Saturday and charged with second-degree murder, manslaughter, gang assault and assault in Lesandro "Junior" Guzman-Feliz's death on Wednesday, authorities said. Police have several other persons of interest in this case, including one in Paterson, New Jersey, and another in the Dominican Republic. Jose Muniz, Santiago Rodriguez, Joniki Martinez, Manuel Rivera, Jose Tavarez, and Danel Fernandez agreed to be transported to NY to face charges of homicide, manslaughter and assault in the fatal stabbing. Yesterday, it was revealed that the members of the gang attacked and killed Junior Guzman-Feliz in a case of mistaken identity.

The wake outside R.G. Ortiz Funeral Home on Southern Boulevard has drawn thousands of mourners, who paid respects in diverse ways. A GoFundMe page has already raised over $150,000 for Guzman-Feliz's family, including $8,000 from Bronx native and rapper Cardi B.
"When you look at where he was assaulted and the proximity of the hospital, it explains the nature of the wounds - that he expired so quickly", said NYPD Chief of Detectives Dermot Shea. "He would say, mommy, I want to be a police [sic] officer", his mother said.
A large memorial formed outside the bodega where Guzman-Feliz was killed. "Since he was 5 years old, he used to love to play with the police toy cars and always said he wanted to be a detective".
